Dr. Jennifer Stewart (she/her) earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University, an APA-accredited program. She also holds a Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham and a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development from Boston College.
Dr. Stewart completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at VA Puget Sound Health Care System – American Lake, where she specialized in PTSD treatment and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has worked in a variety of settings including partial hospitalization programs, psychiatric inpatient units, college counseling centers, private practice, and multiple VA medical centers.
Dr. Stewart brings a warm, collaborative approach to therapy and works with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. She practices from a multicultural, holistic, and intersectional perspective that honors the many identities and experiences each person brings to the therapeutic space. She has extensive training in trauma treatment, DBT, and other evidence-based approaches, and feels deeply grateful to support clients as they move toward healing, growth, and a more meaningful life.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Stewart enjoys spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, hiking, and gently negotiating with her cat to stay off the kitchen counter.
